Harper has only been in Kindergarten a week and it has already gone to her head. This girl thinks she can do anything. She wants to wait for the bus by herself. She wants to visit public bathrooms unassisted. She wants the training wheels off her bike. There is no stopping this little girl.
She has been really persistent about learning to ride her bike with no training wheels, so yesterday we gave it a go. She started in the grass with jeans on to cushion any falls. This did not prove very successful. After many, many falls and some tears she threw in the towel. She promised to try later.
Mitch was not going to let her quit that easy. So after naps he loaded up the kids and headed to a parking lot. She finally started getting the hang of it. I think after a few more training sessions she will be riding with no problem. Her confidence and determination never ceases to amaze me.

Go Harper! You'll get it for sure!
(And YEAH! What is it about wanting to go the restroom by themselves? I HATE that battle!)
Way To Go Harper!!! Keep it up and you'll be riding on your own.
Go Harper! She'll be flying down the sidewalk on her training-wheel-less bike in no time! She sure is a persistant little thing.
Wow, no training wheels. What's next a learners permit to drive a car, they grow up fast. I know that I have 2 years before Francesco is in kindergarten but the first 3 years flew by so 2 will be gone in no time. I just don't know if I can handle them growing up so fast.
Holy cow. You werent kidding about Harper growing up! I dont think I could handle that many "Big Girl" changes at once...
Oy.
I love that she succeeded though. Thats a great accomplishment for her.
I can't believe how big she looks in these shots but still adorable as usual! Give her a big thumbs up for us!
