Team-Up Thursday- Blue

This week our theme is Blue. I sure would like to know what is or was in Cara's blue bag. When I think of blue, my little guy's eyes come to mind. I was trying to get a good shot of his eyes and for some reason he decided do to do this funny wink face at me. I thought is was cute, but his eye color didn't really pop. That's when I decided a little selective coloring would solve that problem. I admit it is a little over the top, but it was fun to play around in photoshop.

Birthday Season is Upon Us

June is our big birthday month. My birthday is in June. Both kids have birthdays in June. Plus, my brother and sister-in-law both have birthdays in June. Needless to say, I have birthdays on the mind. This was about as crafty as I got this week.

I spent way too much time creating this invitation for Harper's 5th birthday party. I know it isn't perfect, but there came a point where I had to say enough is enough!! We are hosting the party at our house and these invitations will be given to all of her classmates. I like to torture myself like that. I have put all my craft and sewing projects on hold for the next couple of weeks. So hopefully that will help.

Because I know you want to see a little bit more of me, I put together this collage using some CoffeeShop actions I have been playing around with lately. If you are a Photoshop Elements user like me, this website is great. There are tons of free actions and tutorials. It makes the fact that I can't use The Pioneer Woman's Actions a little less painful.

Ok, this is the last thing I promise. I have accepted the fact that I am the New Green Mama so I will now have my blogger account routed to http://www.newgreenmama.com/. I know this won't matter for most of you that read my blog through a reader. I just wanted to simplify things and for $10 it seemed worth it. I also want to spruce up my blog you know when I get a free minute :)

Theme Thursday - Create

Today's theme over at Stacy's is Create. I made a couple of attempts to "create" a few things in photoshop. I wasn't really feeling it this week, but this is what you get.

I was going for a more abstract watercolor painting look, but just couldn't get it to look like I wanted it to look.

I thought it would be funny to put my son's face in the reflection of my husband's glasses.

What I have been creating are these cute little shoes made from an old felted wool sweater. I am happy with the way they turned out. Who knows if they will actually fit or stay on?

I also created this little banner. It was thrown together, but shows you I have been day dreaming about opening up an Etsy shop. What do you think of the name? If I actually followed through with it, I would sell items made from reclaimed materials. I have tons of ideas running around in my mind. Now I just need to find the time to make some stuff.

Theme Thursday- A Fairy Round Up

Today's theme for Theme Thursday is Round Up. I had so many ideas for this week. I wanted to do a collage of all my favorite photos from this summer. I am not sure what happened or what motivated me to try Stacy's tutorial on creating a fairy picture, but that is what I did instead. I played around with this for so long this is all I have for today. I am not 100% pleased with it. I definitely want to play around with it some more and try a couple of different techniques. At least I used some photos from a hike we took this summer. I actually merged 3 different photos, one of each of the kids and then the background. Photoshop is an awesome tool!! I am becoming more and more comfortable with it and can see how addicting it can become.
