Theme Thursday- A Fairy Round Up

Today's theme for Theme Thursday is Round Up. I had so many ideas for this week. I wanted to do a collage of all my favorite photos from this summer. I am not sure what happened or what motivated me to try Stacy's tutorial on creating a fairy picture, but that is what I did instead. I played around with this for so long this is all I have for today. I am not 100% pleased with it. I definitely want to play around with it some more and try a couple of different techniques. At least I used some photos from a hike we took this summer. I actually merged 3 different photos, one of each of the kids and then the background. Photoshop is an awesome tool!! I am becoming more and more comfortable with it and can see how addicting it can become.

Why don't you swoop on over to The Land of K.A. to see what everyone else came up with today.

Good job! I love what you did with your photos - so cute!

The more you work with it the better you will get at it. Remember to use drop shadows to add dimension and a 3D quality and if the fairies are glowing to use the dodge tool around them to mimic the look that they are lighting up their surroundings. :)

Awesome - I need more hours in my day to experiment with this. I love your fairies!

The more you work with it the easier it becomes. I've decided that the more tutorials you follow along with and try out then cater to your own artistic whims really helps with learning the program. I found reading the book totally boring!

I think it turned out great! I love the little pixie sitting on the fence. :) Your image collage totally works too.

You merged three pictures together- nice job. I also need more than my 20 minutes of time a day.

I SO need to learn this! Violet is very into fairies right now and this is a great way to capture the magic of this time.

Great picture!

It looks great! I will have to try this myself. My little girl would just love to see herself with fairy wings.
Looks like a whimsical summer!

Jen, you did a really nice job. I have been so into the texturing that I totally forgot about the tutorial on fairies. So thanks for linking it...I just put it in my favorites so I can go back to it later and try my hand at it. PS is super addictive! Looks like you are having fun! :) Cant wait to see more.

Awesome! Nice composite! How'd the kids like it? I'd be so stoked to see wings on my back like that!

Wow! What a great job! That's much better than I could have ever done. Fairies and Harrison don't necessarily go hand-in-hand.
