A Little Touch of Color

DSC_1009-edited

I have been having major withdrawals from taking outdoor photos. It has been so cold and dreary we have not been spending too much time outside. Yesterday was warmer and the sun was shining so we took advantage of the nice weather and spent some time in the backyard. As I was taking stock of all the outdoor chores that would need to be done this spring, I noticed a splash of red out of the corner of my eye. We have several of these bushes that produce tons of little red berries. The kids love to pick them. I convinced them to leave them alone yesterday. I need to see a little touch of color in our yard.

Happy Monday everyone.

Those are beautiful!! I think I hate winter...even though we don't live where it is super cold, even the 20's & 30s make it pretty hard to do anything with the kiddos!!

oh yeah, we have color here, but i miss taking portraits outside. it's hard to get motivated to say "hey kids, let's get chilly and take some photos" -- they aren't that into that ;). love the berries!

V nice composition and a welcome relief from the grey of your winter I'm sure. By the way, if they are cotoneaster berries don't let them pick 'em, they're poisonous!

I just saw some of these (berries?) today as I was out and about, and I thought to myself, "What a pretty photo those would make." I was right. :)

What a nice picture. The color is great - I hope you can continue to keep the kids away from it.

Thank goodness you got there first. Hoepfully they will not pick the berries off this week, when you are not looking.

Hey I like you new picture of yourself on the blog. It is so FUN.......
I almost didn't recognize you when I saw you in the comments on someone's blog.

It's a lovely splash of red on a winter day. I think we've got some of those same types of berries growing down here too. :)

I know what you mean about the January greyness being a little old...although today I am pleased to find the sun shining -- yay!

I love the way the color just pops in this -- it makes me believe that spring will be here soon!

I am having the same issue, it;s killing me that I go to work when its dark and come home when it's dark. I am missing the daylight, can't wait till spring. I love the vibrant color in this shot.

Beautiful shot of your berries. I love that pop of color in the wintertime, too. We have our crabapple trees that have their fruit on them all winter. The deer pick clean the lower branches and the squirrels work on the top. :)
