Labor Day Weekend Camping

We did a little camping over the long holiday weekend.  It was hot, but we had a blast.  Here is our set up.  The kids sleep in the smaller tent and Mitch and I sleep in the bigger tent.

Here's my mother and father in law's tent.  We are all jealous of their tent.  It is huge!!

We rented a pontoon boat on Saturday and spent the day on Tims Ford Lake.  It was a perfect day to be on the lake.


It pooped everyone out.

Teeny, Tiny Owl

We went camping this weekend and rented a pontoon boat on Saturday. So we spent the day doing this....

and cruising around the lake in this lovely boat

As a result my craft table still looks like this....

I did no crafting or sewing this week. Well, ok I did manage to hand sew this little owl while I watched Survivor last week. I guess that counts, right? Since we were going camping, I had this grande idea to make a camping playset with mini animals, a tent, sleeping bag, and campfire for the kids to play with while we camped. I also thought it would be a good way to use up some of my scraps. I still think it is a cute idea, but I am making no promises.

Campin' At Fall Creek Falls

We took the kids camping for the first time this weekend.

We did some hiking.

We saw some pretty water falls.

My sister-in-law and broter-in-law with my nieces posing for a scenic photo.

We took a break for a little snack.

We ate dinner and s'mores. Enjoyed a nice campfire. Put the kids to bed. Chased a skunk around the campsite. Stayed up pretty much all night with cold, restless children. (not photographed)

But we survived.

A little tired and cold, but still smiling.

Nothing a camp fire can't cure though.
